Is it okay to be scared of the night,
Scared of the unknown and its minions?
I fear for everything when my eyes see nothing.

I like the controlled light of artificial lamps,
I can hide from those shadows with its switch.
Though I don’t like hiding,
But I find being afraid is worse.

You laugh at the moon and the stars,
But your voice shakes and your legs tremble.
Still, if you are afraid,
You hide it well.
My fear is too big to hide behind my back.
