I like to stay busy

Sometimes, I shut myself from the world.

I close my eyes and let myself be taken by the buzzing of nothing,

It keeps me busy when I’m too afraid of real work

Of real people

Of real life

Sometimes, I shut down so that my emotions don’t have the time to reach me,

this meaningless numbing place keeps me company when I’m too scared of me

And Of my emotions

And Of my fears

So I mindlessly scroll on my phone, looking for nothing but the comfort of not being present.

Because when I am present, I can’t hide from what I see
