A Sounding Silence

I got used to the silence,

Used to the lack of sound that was filled with your love.

I had carved an oasis in my heart for you to abide in,

But now it is empty,

So the birds stopped singing,

So the lakes there are now still,

No waves caress their surface.

.

The fertile lands have become sandy,

Soon they will be dunes.

The animals will leave and find a new home,

Inhabiting a different oasis in the chest of someone else.

As for me,

I will be left with a desert, a blue sky and

Silence.

.

I will not mind this company,

Clouds and blue skies have much to say,

In this silence,

I will find sound,

I will find a melody,

And sing,

Refiling this space with love,

Coming from none other than myself.

.

In this silence,

I will find sound,

I will find a melody.
